...now we can relax for next 60 years !

So.... India has achieved its Olympic Dream... 1 Gold.. 2 more Bronze medals... a rich harvest in otherwise draught conditions over six decades! The sixth decade has actually ended on the Golden note.. thanks to Abhinav Bindra. A nation of Billion people... 3 medals.
Indian contingent included 75 contestants, 45 support staff and other political functionaries, who have made the Indian Olympic Association their fiefdom. One really needs to analyse, how may were real contestants among those 75 and how many just went to enjoy!
Btw, we have a unique way of 'handling' our sport persons.. a case in point is Monika Devi, and the way she was picked like a fly, I really don't have a faith in the Indian Olympic Association. What an embarrassment ! 2 days before she is supposed to leave, IOA says that she has failed dope test and refuses to send her to Olympics. After 2 more days, IOA clears her name from dope scandal, but says, its now too late for her to catch the bus. Who are these people, who play with the lives of people, who have been working on for years together, to participate in the Olympics? What a shame. All those including Kalmadi and Sports Minister should actually be hanged in public. The way Monica was 'set up', needs a thorough investigation and the guilty needs to be punished 'in public'. The ever barking media, who gets into a tizzy to report absolute shit all through day and night, has chosen to keep quiet in this episode. One really needs to carry out a sting operation to know, how do the TV channels frame their stories for the day.
So... we participated in the Olympics. Sania Mirza and Sunita Rao, God knows, why they went there, if Sania had not recovered from Wrist injury. Why didn't the same people raise a red flag, before sending her to Beijing?

We are euphoric over our 1 Gold and 3 total. Our heros at Beijing will now get into the act of making the fast buck... they will sign endorsements without wasting an opportunity from toothpaste to hair oil and from undergarments to socks! The endorsements will run for next 2-3 years and by then, the next Olympics will be knocking... only to create more Rathors and Bhagwats.. and since they have won a medal for the country, no one will date question them.
So fellas, relax ! Even if we win another medal 60 years down the line.... we would have done our bit for the country!
